PM Modi’s Dhaka trip canceled after three coronavirus cases were reported in Bangladesh

While the growing coronavirus threat in South Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not visit Dhaka after celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sakhile Mujibur Rehman (the father of Bangladesh) to the state government.

On Sunday, Bangladesh confirmed its first set of coronavirus cases. Three people, two of whom had recently returned from Italy, were diagnosed with Covid-19’s disease as official authorities.

To promote the spread of the virus, the Bangladeshi government has decided to cancel Sakhile Mujibur Rehman’s 100th birthday celebrations on March 17.
